Appointment(s) and Titles:
Professor, Medical Microbiology and Immunology
Chair, Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology
Director, Molecular Epidemiology

Education:
B.A.: Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas
M.S.: Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas
Ph.D.: Iowa State Unniversity, Ames, Iowa

Research Interests:
My laboratory is actively involved in the application of molecular techniques to the epidemiology and diagnosis of infectious diseases (i.e., molecular epidemiology). In addition, we are currently involved in a number of projects assessing mechanisms of gram-positive microbial resistance to antimicrobial agents with emphasis on staphylococci and staphylococcal diseases. We are especially interested in the impact genomics will have on these areas of investigation.
