Our laboratory is interested in the molecular mechanisms of antibiotic resistance,
both chromosomal and plasmid-mediated; mechanisms involved in the regulation of gene expression required
for AmpC-mediated resistance; molecular mechanisms involved in the resistance of organisms to fluroquinolones;
and the molecular detection of extended-spectrum beta-lactamases and plasmid-mediated AmpC beta-lactamases
in clinical isolates.
