The use of animal models of infection and an in
vitro pharmacokinetic model to evaluate pharmacodynamic
interactions between antimicrobial agents and bacteria, including: 1) Evaluation of new dosing strategies for
the treatment of infections; 2) Role of Û†lactamase
inhibitor pharmacokinetics on the dynamic interactions of
Û†lactamase†inhibitor/Û†lactam
combinations; 3) Pharmacodynamics of drug combinations against
bacteria, 4) Development of resistance during therapy.
